Frequently Asked Questions

How do I wash my garment?

Sparingly! Just kidding, sort of. There is a habit in our culture of washing clothing after each wearing, which isn’t usually necessary, unless we’re talking underwear or workout clothes. So wear your garment a bunch before washing, and when the time comes: machine wash cold, using the lowest agitation available on your washer, reshape & dry flat (out of direct sunlight, if your piece is eco-printed!). Hand washing is fine, if you prefer; dry cleaning also works, but please use a green cleaner. To banish wrinkles: iron with steam, taking care to avoid pressing directly on velvet or vintage trims, should your garment have them. Alternatively, run your mostly dry garment in the dryer with a damp towel for three minutes or so.

Aren’t used clothes dirty?

Actually, used clothing is typically cleaner than new as frequent washings remove chemical residue from the manufacturing process.

What’s up with all the pockets?

I love pockets and find the lack of them, in women’s clothing especially, an irritant of modern life. To rectify this inequity, most of my garments have at least one, if not more. Sometimes I nest pockets, so that you can have a warm place for your hands separate from your stuff.

Do you do custom orders?
