Typically, I don’t work on Samhain, preferring instead to spend the day outside in quiet reflection on the past year. This year, scheduling made it necessary to eschew my typical practice in order to photograph and tag new pieces before they went out the door to Snow Farm for their annual seconds sale. Lucky for me, this work was its own opportunity for reflection.
Though I have been making things out of other things for years, selling those things is a newer endeavor and I am learning as I go. Since opening my etsy shop in 2017, I have been refining my one-of-a-kind garment designs, and feel I have found my stride in the wonderfully diverse world of textile recycling.
With this refining comes redesigning, specifically: a new logo! And, as a result, new garment labels, hangtags, and business cards. I am very excited that these will be printed out-of-house, freeing up valuable time for making and . . .
blogging! I plan to post eight times a year — mostly updates about where you can find my stuff, peaks into my creative process, and maybe a little bit about life in general, too. If there’s a topic you’re particularly interested in, please contact me! In the meantime, I’ll be in my sewing room, working away. I am incredibly grateful to be able to pursue this creative work, and look forward to another year of growth, discovery, and sharing.
